Thankfulness for Kozmo

As with most multi-pet houses, one of the animals is is generally friendly with all the other pets.

At our house, Kozmo is the glue.

I, Marvelous Marv LOVE Kozmo. We are best buddies and I love him to bits. I am so thankful that he is my brother! (And that he gets cheese every day and I do too). He plays with Cinnamon (they grew up together) and I've seen him on the bed with Jo Jo too!

I am also thankful that Mom has helped us blog this week (she missed Wordless Wednesday, her booster shot on Tuesday made her feel cruddy but that meant we all got extra cuddles as she moaned on the sofa).

We are thankful for all the blog hops we get to pawticipate in! And other great things that happen in the blogosphere like Awww Mondays, Sparks, Happy and Teaser Tuesdays (and don't forget Stinky and Periwinkle), Wordless Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, Feline Friday, and Bacon on Saturday and Rosie's Tips and Nature Friday Feline Friday and Friendly Fill-in and Final Friday Fiction and Artsy Caturday, Selfie Sunday and Snuggles on Sunday and Many Many More! And we are thankful for all the Pets and Peeps who sponsor all these fun things!

We are thankful for all the Peeps and Pets that comment on our blog and we LOVE visiting you too! And we are thankful for those that don't mind that we miss commenting sometimes.

THANK YOU ALL!!!

We are pawticipating in Thankful  Thursday at Brian's Home! Please click on their badge to be taken to Thankful Central! Brian and his Siblings and his Peeps do so furry much for the Pet Blogosphere (And thanks to Ann at Zooalatry too, without her we would not be here this week).

Caturday Art - Kozmo is an Admirer

Did you see the beauteous Katie Isabella as part of the Cheer Team for the Tuesday Teaser and the Teaser Tell All at Two Spoiled Cats this week? Kozmo was over the moon!

And I, Marvelous, captured him mooning over Katie and the Cheer Team!

I thought it would take the photo of Kozmo and make art out of it!

Furrst, Kozmo and I ran some of the filters in Painnt and we LOVED this one! The colors reminded me of the Ukrainian Flag. When Kozmo saw it, he said he would like it if we used it for Caturday Art.

Then we took the photo and did some PhotoShop painting.

AND we thought we should make puzzles out o them too!Just click on the images above and you will be magically taken to Jigsaw Planet.

Now we are pawticipating in the Lovely Athena's Artsy Caturday

Please click on her button to visit her site. Her Peep is the best and a pretty darn wonderful artist and makes the best tabby art EVER!

This special day was created by Deborah Barnes – author, award winning blogger, and cat advocate in tribute to her cat, Mr. Jazz, who she had to say goodbye to on August 28, 2013. She shared the journey of letting him go in her book, “Purr Prints of the Heart: A Cat’s Tale of Life, Death, and Beyond,” a warm and heartfelt book that is written in the wise and comforting voice of Mr. Jazz himself as he shares his life and death journey to offer guidance and understanding through a cat’s perspective as to why sometimes letting a pet go can be the greatest gift you give them.

A special event page for Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day has been created on Facebook so that people can share blog post links, pictures, poems, favorite memories, etc.

Happy Canada Day Hosers! (and a Poem)

Yes! We live in the Great White North! We are  413.51 m (1,356.66 ft) from the USA.

Today, besides trying to keep cool, we are celebrating Canada's Birthday!

Our furrends know that we often refer to where we live as the "Great White North". And some have asked why. As it is Canada Day, we thought we would tell you where that comes from.

One of Mom's favorite TV shows in the late 70s was SCTV. One of our human brother's Dad's furrends was a producer for the show, so it was watched religiously.

"Ironically, the most popular sketch in the program's eight-year history was intended as throw-away filler. Bob and Doug McKenzie, the dim-witted, beer-chugging, and back bacon-eating brothers in a recurring Canadian-themed sketch called Great White North, were initially developed by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, respectively, as a sardonic response to the CBC network's request that the show feature two minutes of "identifiably Canadian content" in every episode. The two-minute length reflects the fact that American shows were two minutes shorter than Canadian ones (to allow more commercials), leaving two minutes needing content for the Canadian market. The Bob and Doug McKenzie segments first appeared in 1980 at the start of season three and continued in every episode until Thomas and Moranis left the series.

The characters ultimately became icons of the very Canadian culture they parodied, spinning off albums, a feature film (Strange Brew), commercials, and numerous TV and film cameos. Bob and Doug helped popularize the stereotypical Canadian trait of adding "eh" to the end of sentences, a facet of Canadian life often gently ridiculed in American shows featuring Canadian characters. Lines from the sketch, such as "Take off, you hoser!", became part of North American popular culture."
(from Wikipedia)

We welcome all of our furrends world wide to be "Hosers" like us today!

Almost all the 2 minute segments of "The Great White North" are on YouTube.

Poetry Thursday

This week we are going to do Sammy's  Poetic Thursday everybody…Please click on the button to go to Poetry Central at Two Spoiled Cats

And this is this weeks inspirational image!

As I walk along the the street
A door swings open in the in the heat
I see the tables and the bottles
And my restraint, slowly topples
I open the door and am amazed!
As my eyes are slowly raised
I see the wall of bottles shine
On the shelves all made from pine
Every bottle tells a story
about a person's fall from glory
I look and see (as if I can)
That inside each there lies a man!
I turn and leave and walk away
Perhaps I'll be back another day.

Cinnamon is singing "Oh Canada" and thinking about playing in the SNOW!

Poems and Thankfulness

Much Sadness

We were stunned when we heard about Bear Cat

The sweet and amazing Bear Cat, from MommaKatandHerBearCat.com, sadly passed away on Sunday, May 9th, after an unexpected an sudden battle. Fifteen years ago Bear Cat rescued his Momma and worked his magic to improve her life on a daily basis. Now, there’s lots of sadness and Momma Kat and Sister Ellie need our love and support.

Please stop by with love, hugs and words of comfort here:

Marv's Doggerel on Poetry Thursday at Two Spoiled Cats

We LOVE Sammy's Poetry. He does such a great job and we love that he sends Teddy and Mom photos for next week along with his terrific poems. I am not really good at it but I do get inspired some times and this week, I Marv, was INSPIRED! Here is the photo he sent!

Here is my poem!

Dragon in the Clover!

Today will be fun, sister one did say,
As they travelled the trails to get to the hay.
They travelled the path in the old wagon,
The little boy hoped they’d soon see a dragon.
But all that they saw was corn in the field,
And a surly old man who would not yield,
I will show you another good game that I know!
Said sister two, all that I need is your shoe that is blue!
A tussle erupted and arguing began,
Sit down! And Be Quiet! Said the old man.
We will be at the field as soon as we can,
And if you are not quiet the dragon will eat you,
And your shoes that are blue, he will swallow you whole,
Without even a chew as we go over the knoll!
The children got quiet, and sat down proper,
And they soon saw the dragon-who was a whopper!
He smiled and laughed and then he giggled
His body it shook and his belly it jiggled.
The trip was fun and then it was over,
And the dragon he sat in his field of clover!

Now if you click on Sammy's Graphic, you will be magically whisked to Two Spoiled Cats where you can read Sammy's Poem and find all the other poets!

Thankful Thursday and a Poem

First the Poetry!

This week we are doing Sammy (and Teddy)'s Poetry! When we first looked at this picture, it looks like a slightly older version of our kitchen.

The Kitchen

My kitchen is old and looks on the blink
I ought to just chuck the whole thing in the sink,
The oven is older and needs to be lit
There is nor fridge as it would not fit!
The sink is full of dishes galore
The black and white tiles make up the floor.
But in this disaster I do my best
To make super goodies that have that zest.
So sit yourself down and I'm make a feast
With mashed and peas and the best roast beast!

 The Thankfuls!

As you know Mom and Alex were gone all day Tuesday. They drove halfway to Vancouver to get Mom a new car. It was a long day and when Mom got home, she went out again last night. Today we have been holding her down on the sofa so that she can catch up with all those who has visited and commented on our posts and the people who we go and visit too!

We are thankful for our new chariot!

It is smaller, but it is 2 years newer and has 110,000 kms (68350 miles)  less on it. It does not have heated seats, but it does have a block heater (which helps the car in our cold winters). Mom got a really good deal because it has a manual transmission (apparently people don't want to shift gears anymore). Mom says she has to figure out how to get all our diity bags and cat carriers in there too! We are looking forward to watching her do that!
We are thankful for all of our furrends and their help as we went through all of this. We are thankful for our blogging furrends who come and visit, we are thankful for the hops that we pawticipate in-the people who sponsor them are wonderful and they they never complain! We are also for the Cat blogosphere and how they collect all the information about the hops, special days and other pet events. We are especially thankful to Ann at Zoolatry who works hard at creating all the fabulous artwork for badges, headers, etc that we see throughout the blogosphere.

❤❤❤ Thank you furrends, we love and appreciate you! ❤❤❤

We are pawticipating in Thankful Thursday at Brian's Home. Thanks for hosting this awesome blog hop! We love visiting all those who participate and reading their thankfuls too!

Thankfully Poetic!

First is Mom's Thankful. This is something that has only happened ONCE before since we moved back to BC. This is Me, Kozmo and Jo Jo all on the bed at the same time! Mom had broken up some of the Peanut Butter and Bacon cookies and we ALL wanted some!

She sprinkled them on the bed and we were all there (until the cookie crumbs were gone). Even better, last night I, Marv, came and cuddled in bed with Mom while Kozmo was on the bed. I even purred and I stayed for 15 minutes, before I hrrmphed and leapt off the bed.
I really don't like to share Mom and I won't go on the bed if Kozmo or Jo Jo is there and they think the bed in that bedroom is theirs.
Mom is thankful that I have started to mellow and is hoping that the mellowing continues.
I also want to thank all the visitors who come to my blog and those who leave me messages! I really love to read them. Thank You!
And Thanks to all the people whose Blog Hops we have pawticipated in this week:
First Thanks to all those who make the CatBlogosphere Happen! Here we can pawticipate EVERYDAY
Sandee at Comedy Plus who runs Awww Mondays, Happy Tuesday, Wordless Wednesday and Feline Friday.
Brian and his dad who run Thankful Thursday
Sammy and Teddy and their Mom Pam for the Where in the World on Tuesdays and Poetry Thursday
Ellen of 15 amd Meowing and Lorraine of 4 Legged Furballs who do the Friendly Fill-ins,
Marie and Athena who do Caturday Art
and
Janet at The Cat On My Head for Selfie Sunday.

Today we have written a poem!

At least we are going to attempt poetry this week with Sam's Poetry Corner over at One Spoiled Cat! You can click on the logo to be magically taken to Sammy (and Teddy's) Blog Two Spoiled Cats!

The photo looks like it could have been taken in one of the old time bars around here. In the late 1800 there was a Gold Rush here and later there was mining for Copper. Most of the old hotels are now closed and mouldering. We live off the beaten path and most people want to vacation where there are exciting things to do.

One of the exciting stories about the Boundary was the murder of the Midway Hotel owner, Charles Thomet. Our house is built on the same spot where his house used to be.

Mr Thomet owned a hotel
People say it was the best
Where all the happy miners
Set down and had a rest.

There were beers and whisky
And drinks to melt the chill
For all the happy miners,
Who made it down the hill.

Then one day a gun fight happened
And Mr Thomet met his end
The bandits did run and swim
And made it around the bend.

They never did find those guys
And no one was to know
Where those bandits got to
So very long ago.

Here is a really short video about the murder!
