We pets and our Peeps celebrate Love Your Pet Day to honor the bond between humans and their pets. While it may seem to focus on pampering and giving extra attention to all animals, from dogs and cats to birds and reptiles, by providing treats, extra playtime, or cozy cuddles, it is much, much more! Especially for YOU PEEPS! Us pets can increase fitness, lower stress and bring happiness to our Peeps! 
Mom says sometimes we are brats. But we know that even if we are, she forgives us! So today we are going to cuddle and purr and snuggle and let our Peeps know how much we love them!

Katie & Kozmo!

In the middle of May, I asked My Mom if we could paint a picture of Katie and Me dancing. I have not been in the best of health and have not been up to spending too many nights traipsing through the tunnels to visit my Lady Love. AND I miss her. I sent it to her as a token of my love. 
Katie Posted it on her blog and I poured out my heart to her.

Katie's Mom sent us an email of the picture they made of our digital one and hung it on the wall at Katie (and Her Mom's) House! What an HONOR! 

 I am the happiest cat in the world, knowing that my Katie will always shine in the moonlight and that the stars will shimmer brighter!

Siamese Cat Day with Queen Nellie Bellie!

Another name for Siamese cats is Mezzers. 

The term is often used by Siamese cat enthusiasts and is derived from the breed’s distinctively vocal nature, which includes a range of meows or “mees” that can be quite expressive. These cats are known to have a very distinctive vocalization, which can be both endearing and, at times, demanding.

Our Peep was once owned by a small meezer (who had the biggest purrsonality) named Queen Nellie! We asked our Peep if she could tell us WHY Mezzers are the way they are and she said there are 6 things Peeps MUST know when they are owned by a Mezzer! She asked Queen Nellie of she would help tell yous all and Nellie Bellie said YES!

 

1. Your Mezzer has more toys than you did as a child

 

You ALWAYS celebrate their Birthday!

3. You LIKE spending more time with your Mezzer than people.

 4. Your Mezzer MUST give you their "permission" before you pet them.

 

5. You stop whatever you are doing to pet your Mezzer.

5. Everything belongs to the Mezzer! They insist on being pampered!

6. Mezzers always make sure they are there to help you!

Winter Solstice (and Happy 91st Birthday Dad)

YULE TIDE CHEER!

Yule is one of the oldest pagan winter solstice holidays. It has been celebrated for thousands of years by various cultures, with a wide variety of rituals and traditions. Because Yule depends on the solstice, which depends on the sun reaching is southern most point it can vary by location but it always falls on or after December 21 each year.
Yule is a traditional pagan celebration and id a time to celebrate the hope of the returning light. Like the solstice we acknowledge the darkness is defeated by the brighter side and with each day getting longer, it is a time of celebration so in that respect, Yule is like the traditional New Year holiday. Its a chance to look ahead to the year to come and begin again. 

In ICELAND there is legend of a Yule Cat!

The Icelandic Yule Cat, also known as Jólakötturinn, has a long and fascinating history rooted in Icelandic folklore. While the exact origins of this mythical creature are unknown, it is believed to have been a part of Icelandic culture for centuries.

According to legend, the Yule Cat was a fearsome beast that roamed the countryside, preying on those who did not receive new clothes before Christmas Eve. In Icelandic tradition, new clothes were a symbol of good behavior and were given as gifts to children and adults alike during the holiday season.

Over time, the Yule Cat’s reputation as a fearsome predator softened, and it became a symbol of the importance of hard work and the joy of gift-giving during the holiday season. Today, the Yule Cat is an integral part of Icelandic Christmas traditions and is celebrated throughout the country every year.

It is our Pop Pop's 91st Birthday!

He is our Mom's Dad and even though we don't know him very well, (he has not visited Midway since the last century) our Mom has gone and seen him in Calgary more than a few times!

From the moment her Dad picked her up at the Farm market, Jo Jo was a Daddy's Grrl. She was always beside him, sitting on his lap, she followed him everywhere and she loved him to bits. When he passed, she became a ghost. We hardly saw her, she ignored all of us and when you tried to touch her, she hissed and bit.  In the last couple of months she has come out from under the bed, started to play with the others, sits beside me on the sofa, sleeps on the bed and "Gasp" lets me pet her!
