 World Pet Memorial is a holiday that was created by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and is celebrated on the second Tuesday of June every year. People across the world have pets, with the most popular being dogs and cats. Pets hold a special place in our hearts and are part of the family for most people. Losing a pet is difficult, no matter how long you had them. The AVMA wanted to create a holiday to remember all our pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Because World Pet Memorial Day also falls on Meezer Colors Day we thought we would share some of our favorite GIFTS that Nellie Gave us!

International Hug Your Cat Day!

 Mom, Did you know today is International Hug Your Cat Day? Today (which is observed on May 30) is an opportunity to lavish your cats with hugs and pamper them, as they deserve. 

Of course, you should already be doing this, (every day) but International Hug Your Cat Day is the ONE day dedicated specifically to doing this. I Marvelous have a list...WAIT...You WANT ME TO DO SOMETHING?!?!?

 

 

I guess if I can Hug a Frog, I can hug Mom...

You really give good hugz Mom! Were you practising? Purrhaps with that Hairy Slobbery Dog Nutcase? Or Kozmo or Jo Jo or maybe Big Furry across the Street?

Celebrate Shelter Pets Day!

 

We celebrate shelter pets on the first Thursday after Thanksgiving. This year, it takes place on December 5. And was started to bring awareness to those pets in shelters. A lot of people think of adopting a pet from a shelter but they don’t follow through because they think there was a bad reason for the pet being returned to a shelter. Most people who have adopted from shelters will tell you they are full of great pets. Our Nellie Belle was a pet that was deemed unadoptable. She had numerous behavior issues. But with understanding of what these issues were and what caused them  Nellie turned into a wonderful cat! 

 

Rainbow Bridge Memorial Day

 

Yesterday Mom was baiting the trap for Lucifer (yes, we are still trying to catch the cat our neigbor left behind when he moved). It was lightly raining and Nutmeg started barking her "I'm playing with another dog and having fun" bark.

Mom looked up and she saw a double rainbow! And then she saw an orange streak! 

Was Cinnamon playing with Nutmeg?

We are thankful for our angels.
