Hi Guys!
It's Tuesday and you all know what day it is. This week we are talking GNOMES!
In purrticular Garden gnomes. You know, those statues you see of pint
sized chubby human-like creatures usually wearing red hats and blue
pants.
Garden gnomes are typically male and have beards but you see the occasional female gnome statue these days. You can find them in a variety of poses and pursuing various past times such as fishing, napping, or in the case of my personal favorite gnome - not the Hear, See and Speak no Evil, but Tabby Eating Gnomes (you can buy it on Amazon).
Did you know:
- There is an actual Garden Gnome Liberation Front who think that keeping these creatures in captivity is terribly cruel and they are devoted to taking them before setting them free in the wild. If you're lucky, you might get a postcard or two from your previous little pal.
- Gnomes have been banned from designs at Chelsea Flower Show
- They were first mass-produced in 1872 in Germany. They were called Gartenzwerge or garden dwarfs.
- They LOVE to sing Gnome Worry Be Happy when they are gardening
- They can be quite annoying when they're indecisive, all they say is yes, gnome, maybe.
Gnome puns intended we know you came for the Jokes! And helping us out furrst is Forestzen! He is a furrend of our local Sasquatch and he's on the Greenwood Baseball team!
Next is a computer buddy of our Mom's! She calls him Nimbledigit!
Did you know the Gnomes have an allegiance pledge - "Gnome matter what, I’ll protect your garden!"
We know that today's jokes are just Gnome-sense. But we also know “Good things come to gnomes who wait"
It is HAPPY TUESDAY and HAPPY TUESDAY Central is Comedy Plus! Now we are looking forward to coming around and visiting you. We are joining Sandee at Comedy Plus for Happy Tuesday! Please click her button to see all the other happiness!
we NEEEEEED this kitty with the gnomes... that is the perfect gift for a friend...
ReplyDeleteI love the gnome eating cat. I have been hoping it will become available in ginger. Great gnome puns, Marv!
ReplyDeleteMarv, it looks to me like you were throwing a Fastpitch to that gnome. I'm not sure I can play with anything that's so goofy looking as in them. You have to walk their every move, they're liable to steal your mice and taste your squirrels. I don't have any gnomes outside my window just Chipmunks. Precious
ReplyDeleteOh My Gnome, why did we ever come by here today? All this gnomeiciousgiggling has
ReplyDeleteleft us unable to say more ...
Did you know there is a gnome and troll museum in Ohio?
ReplyDeletehttps://www.thetrollhole.com/
I've been there, and enjoyed looking at old Wishniks, like the ones I had as a kid.
Wait a minute, I still have them!!!
Beau has a Gnome set to go tomorrow, I will add your link in it for those who love Gnomes and might miss your post. thanks for the jokes and giggles and I love the gnome eating cat...

ReplyDeleteWe need a gnome, a house is not a home without one.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why we don't have any Southern Gnomes here, but maybe we do?!?!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I love gnomes.:) XO
ReplyDeleteWe love all your silly puns. Our mom has that kitty with the gnomes. Dad gave it to her for her birthday a couple years ago. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, angel Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet
ReplyDeleteYou know the gnomes know
ReplyDeleteThose were some pretty gnometastic jokes, you guys. That cat eating gnomes statue is SO funny! XO
ReplyDeleteWe love gnomes.....they've clever and guard our gardens and they're also quite cute! That tabby eating gnomes statue certainly is an "attention grabber" in a garden I'm sure. HAHAHAHAHA I suppose if one lived out west on a horse ranch you'd have a new song to sing....."GNOME, GNOME ON THE RANGE...WHERE THE DEER AND THE ANTELOPE PLAY.....etc.etc.etc."
ReplyDeleteHA! We can be silly too!
Hugs, Teddy
You found some cute gnomes. We love the one of the cat eating them. BOL!
ReplyDeleteOh my gnome!! What a wonderful collection of Gnome-y goodness!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL BOL! Great jokes. We have three gnomes and they are assigned to guarding the rose bushes.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that you can eat them...we have two in our garden, so I have to give it a try...MOL...Marv you're gnomastic😹Pawkisses for a Happy Day to all of you and the Gartenzwerge too🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Wait, so are these the kind of gnomes that collect underpants? And if so, have they figured out how to turn a profit with them yet?"
ReplyDeleteDo you think gnomes are tasty? Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty
