Thankful Thursday with Cinnamon

Mom needs a day off. The day before yesterday she made No-tomato Paste and to day she made Ukrainian Borscht

and Cranberry Garlic Jelly.

I Cinnamon, snoopervised from the Living Room. (I'm not allowed in the kitchen when there is canning).

Mom also made Chicken Cacciatore for Alex with some of the No-tomato Paste and I got to be the official taster and it was yummy. Mom also made me a batch of Dog Food. And tomorrow, there might be some Chocolate Zuchinni Bread and Zuchinni Cookies (for moi!)

Alex (and me and the cats) are thankful that Mom likes to cook and that she makes stuff that is good for us to eat. We are thankful that our furrends who were hit by Hurricane Fiona in Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton (part of Nova Scotia). We, in Canada are lucky. Fiona could have been much, much worse.

We are also purraying for our Furrends in Florida. We hope the Raz, Noelle, Reesie and Peep and Beau and his Peeps are not too badly affected.

We are Thankful for you ALL!!!

Well... that sent me off on a half hour follow the thread rabbit hole; 'what is nomato sauce' I wondered... several recipes later and a discovery it might be a dietary consideration for my own health... but back on topic. Yes, Cinnamon, you are indeed lucky to have such a culinary mother!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. Cinnamon, your mommy make some of the best sounding foods. And we know she cooks your food all the time too. I get Crunchies out of a bag, but Lynn has to buy them and I do like them. It's been a long time since she put anything in a glass jar and cooked it. Probably before my great-great-great grandma was thought of. We have our Paws folded in prayer for everybody down south here too. Precious

  5. Our mom loves to cook and bake too. This time of year when it gets colder, she starts up with all the fall and winter stuff. Enjoy all your goodies.

  6. Can we come and live with you and that good food?
No, just kidding. Just jealous! I know why you are not allowed in the kitchen. Lucy is not allowed in at certain times. She also knows that if I make yeasted bread, she won't get any snacks, so she goes to bed. Lucy is smart like you!

  7. The Hubby remembers canning things with his mom when he was a tot, but he doesn't do anything like that now.
Seems even a weakened storm can be dangerous.
    Cinnamon, good job of snoopervising.

  8. You're a great snoopervisor and taster too. Cute as a bug also.

I'm coming to your house and let your mom cook for me. Yummy. I sneak you some food.

All our peeps in Florida are in our prayers too.

Have a woof woof Thankful Thursday, Cinnamon. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and an extra big hug to mom. ♥

  10. Lulu: "Hmm, are you sure borscht isn't Swedish?"
Java Bean: "Why do you say that?"
Lulu: "Because isn't that what the Swedish Chef says? 'Borscht borscht borscht?'"
Charlee: "First, he says 'Bork bork bork', and second, he's a muppet."
    Lulu: "A muppet? Mmm, stuffie!"

  11. Yummers! Mom loves to bake and cook when the temps are cooler and when heating up the kitchen is a good thing! Bummer that you have to stay out of the kitchen, Cinnamon, but it's best to stay safe when hot things could hurt you.
