Plums from the tree the bear climbed (and broke a ton of branches off of).
Washed and cut in half.
Added to some boiling cranberry juice and then ladled in jars for canning.
This jar is going to our neighbour Heinz (it was his tree that the bear climbed). What do you think Marv is saying!

ReplyDelete"I, the vampire cat, relish those blood red plums!" Seriously though, I was drooling this side. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
They look delicious, but Marv is probably wishing it was something for him.
ReplyDeleteYou do not look very happy about sharing, Marv.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure who had an easier time getting the plums. Your mom because of the bear are back when I was a kid when I crawled under electric fence and threw a cow pasture to climb a tree to pick plums. Then my mom would make jelly but she never used cranberry juice I don't think and that sounds really tasty. Precious is wondering Marv , if you're trying to tell your mom you want cheese instead of plums.
ReplyDeleteIt looks delicious! Never tried such a combination of fruits!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a Happy cat month! But I hope the whole year will be happy!
Happy WW and a fine week! Nice hearing you again!
Wouldn't Heinz rather have ketchup?
ReplyDeleteYou'd think I'd at least be offered a taste. That's what Marv is saying.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and a big hug to mom. ♥
We think Marv wants to be a taste tester to make sure the plums were properly prepared. BOL!
ReplyDeleteMarv is saying, Keep them All, Mama
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "Where's the tuna?!"
ReplyDeleteMarv: "This would be tastier if they were mouses instead of fruit!"
ReplyDelete'I don't see or smell any cheese in there...go ahead get rid of it!'
ReplyDeleteGood to see you around again...butt I am not getting your posts, even the follow it icon on your page won't allow me. Sheesh!
Oh, my! Our bears wreck up all the cherry trees. Never destroy them, though. But plums! I wish. I do have wild plum trees but they are going thru an infestation of something, so I only get a wizened one occasionally. :-(
ReplyDelete"Now why can't she put that kind of effort into making me some cat food?"
ReplyDeleteIt needs another sprinkle of nip please!
ReplyDeleteCan you can catnip jam?
ReplyDelete"Hey, Mom. Did you remember to add the catnip to Heinz's jar?"
ReplyDeleteThat all looks yummy and bet it smells that way too.
ReplyDeleteMarv is saying…I prefer catnip!!
