Thankful Thursday and a Poem

First the Poetry!

This week we are doing Sammy (and Teddy)'s Poetry! When we first looked at this picture, it looks like a slightly older version of our kitchen.

The Kitchen

My kitchen is old and looks on the blink
I ought to just chuck the whole thing in the sink,
The oven is older and needs to be lit
There is nor fridge as it would not fit!
The sink is full of dishes galore
The black and white tiles make up the floor.
But in this disaster I do my best
To make super goodies that have that zest.
So sit yourself down and I'm make a feast
With mashed and peas and the best roast beast!

 The Thankfuls!

As you know Mom and Alex were gone all day Tuesday. They drove halfway to Vancouver to get Mom a new car. It was a long day and when Mom got home, she went out again last night. Today we have been holding her down on the sofa so that she can catch up with all those who has visited and commented on our posts and the people who we go and visit too!

We are thankful for our new chariot!

It is smaller, but it is 2 years newer and has 110,000 kms (68350 miles)  less on it. It does not have heated seats, but it does have a block heater (which helps the car in our cold winters). Mom got a really good deal because it has a manual transmission (apparently people don't want to shift gears anymore). Mom says she has to figure out how to get all our diity bags and cat carriers in there too! We are looking forward to watching her do that!
We are thankful for all of our furrends and their help as we went through all of this. We are thankful for our blogging furrends who come and visit, we are thankful for the hops that we pawticipate in-the people who sponsor them are wonderful and they they never complain! We are also for the Cat blogosphere and how they collect all the information about the hops, special days and other pet events. We are especially thankful to Ann at Zoolatry who works hard at creating all the fabulous artwork for badges, headers, etc that we see throughout the blogosphere.

❤❤❤ Thank you furrends, we love and appreciate you! ❤❤❤

We are pawticipating in Thankful Thursday at Brian's Home. Thanks for hosting this awesome blog hop! We love visiting all those who participate and reading their thankfuls too!

I like your blog spring header and new car. My car is more than 10 years old but still in good form for me to drive around town. Enjoy your time with mom and all the attention you all are getting from her.

First of all - FABULOUS POEM! Angel Sammy had a feeling that photo would evoke memories for a lot of peeps. The HEART of the home spot alright. Secondly WOO HOO on the new-to-you car. It's very pretty and we continue to be so thankful that Mom and Cinni were OK after that deer accident in the old squished up car. Sending you all hugs - especially for pawticipating in Angel Sammy's Poetry fun!!!

Love, Teddy

Lynn remembers the day of manual transmission, then it's been a couple years since the old Subaru. You're not going to park that new car inside of that fancy kitchen are you? I think that'd be better than having a block heater myself. And it would be all warmed up for the kitties in the puppy to Jump Right In. Now your mom needs some kind of air horn to tell those deer to stay off the road.

I am so glad that you have the new car and that things are normalizing for you all again. There are so many hills here in town and I'm on top of the highest one that I'd rather not have manual again. Lazy I guess.

EXCELLENT poem for that photo. love the photo, it reminds me of my childhood. my kitchen is not retro but it is dated from 89 and not been touched for 32 years. I think I see a Chevy bowtie on the front of your adorable new car.. it looks great and since my hubby swears Chevy is the ONLY car to own, passes his inspection. of course I drive KIA, ha ha on that. sounds like a great deal and my favorite color for a car is silver.

Well done on the POEM clapping and standing ovation.
I love your new Chariot. Yay for mom knowing how to drive a manual. I can also but I fear it is a vanishing skill...everyone wants all the bells and whistles

Hi there, my name is Kosmo, and I am a tuxedo cat living in faraway Finland. Thank you for liking my mom's comment, so I could find your blog. You know, we have here almost in every car manual gears, mom has never drived a car with automatic gears.
Spring is amost here.

I just love that poem! Yay, a new chariot - it's a nice one. I haven't drove a stick shift in a long time and kinda miss it. Enjoy all.

We're glad you finally got a new car. Funny how most people don't know how to drive a stick shift these days.

For some reason, that kitchen kind of reminded me of "The Honeymooners." (Haha, stick shift and The Honeymooners … I bet you can guess how old I am now.)

We are thankful for you and your mom. Nice ride. I guess you all will have to ride separately or stack cases up.

Love your poem and your new ride. I'm sure you'll have years of enjoyment.

Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and a hug to you. ♥

That is a great poem and we love your take on it. In the end it is the meal and family that count.
What a fun new chariot. You will all be fine and love it. Dad really misses his left leg as a manual is so nice. You can fly or creep or save gas or... no not sleep. Never mind MOL

Maybe Mom should get a roof carrier and tie your cat carriers up there? (Just kidding)

A great poem for a fabulous kitchen. Our mom is in love with that pic - she really treasures antiques. We just had to get a new (to us) car too because ours just quietly died one day. 230,000 miles were on that engine, so I guess we did kinda use it up. You got a nice one. We like it lots.

We bet it brings a big sigh of relief to Mom and Dad to have that whole car deal behind them. It looks like a great car - all the best of luck with it, and warning to all deer - keep away!!!

Hooray for a new Chariot!! Chariots of the Cats-astrophes!! Um...that spounds bad, we sure hope there will NOT be any catastrophes with those new wheels!
Petcretary, too, misses her Mazda GLC which was a manual...son the elder has a little Ford ST with a manual. He loves it! After he learned how to drive it. LOL!)

That is a cute poem! And yes back in the day, those kitchens WERE the soul of the home!

However if you look at the left, behind the table and beside the cupboard, there is a sort of cabinet with a big round thing on the top, I think that is a very old fridge??

There is much hard work behind the scenes in 'Blogville', isn't there?!

We like your poem. Until our humans remodeled ours in 2009, it was a disaster. Mom says that her grandparents had those chairs. Marv, you are looking great. Glad Mom Barb has some new wheels! Mom drove manual transmission cars until her legs got too weak to do the clutch. And she says that she’ll never go back to non-heated seats. You have a terrific list of Thankful’s.
