The day after Christmas is Dec. 26, in Canada and Great Britain (and other British Empire Counties) it is a continuation of the Christmas holiday. It did not travel to the US as it started to be celebrated in Victorian times. It giving revelers not only another day free from work, but a second flurry of gift-giving, shopping, eating, and sports-watching. And until the development of online shopping, it was the Canadian equivalent to Black Friday. Mom (who is ancient) can remember going and standing in line at the TV store at 6 am to get an 8 track player at the BIG Boxing Day sale! It is also the day that you could go and visit friends as Christmas Day was for families. Mom says that was also the day that all the boxes that stuff came in were given to the cats to play in!
We LOVE the boxes! We are hoping that Mom (or our human bro) capture some pictures of us and the boxes.
The GRRLs - Jo Jo and Nutmeg - are NOT in boxes, thy are sharing the sofa (and the heated blanket) in our human brother's man cave. They hang with him almost every night! And they DO want to wish you ALL, Happy Holidays!
