April 5, 2026 Hoppy Easter!

A Marvelous Cat Tail er Tale -  And How He Met the Easter Bunny

Marvelous came to live with Mom in Canada in 2017. Easter had already passed, so he didn’t think much about bunnies, baskets, or Peeps. He was far too busy supervising Richmond from the catio and making sure Mom didn’t wander off unsupervised.

Fast forward to the next spring.

One evening, the raccoons who lived by the cranberry field across the street waddled over and whispered through the catio screen, “Pssst… Marv! Big news. On Sunday, a rabbit brings candy to the Peeps.”

Marvelous blinked.
“A rabbit? Bringing candy? To birds? This country is weird.”

But he was intrigued. A rabbit delivering treats sounded like a job he should have. After all, he was fast, handsome, and had excellent paw–eye coordination.

So, very early Easter morning (before the sun was even up!), Marvelous stationed himself by the door, ready to pounce on this so‑called candy courier.

Just after sunrise, he heard a soft thump… thump… thump.
Marvelous crouched. His tail twitched. His whiskers quivered with anticipation.
Then—there he was.

A fluffy white rabbit wearing a tiny vest, dragging a basket bigger than he was.

Marvelous leapt out dramatically.

“STOP RIGHT THERE! I have questions.”

The rabbit froze mid‑thump.
“Uh… hi?”

Marvelous strutted around him lashing his striped tail and making sure it tickled the rabbit's nose.

“Why candy? Why Peeps? Why not cats? And why do you get a whole holiday when I clearly have the better fur?”

The Easter Bunny sighed.
“Look, kid, I don’t make the rules. I just hop here.”

Marvelous considered this.
“Fine. But I want a sample.”

The Easter Bunny handed him a single green (and smelling of catnip) jellybean.

Marvelous sniffed it, batted it, chased it, and finally sat on it.

“This is acceptable,” he declared.

And from that day on, Marvelous made sure the Easter Bunny stopped at his house first. Partly for quality control, partly because someone had to supervise the rabbit’s work ethic, and mostly because he liked the green jellybeans.

And that is how Marvelous met the Easter Bunny…
…and why the Easter Bunny now stops for catnip tea in the wee hours at Mom’s house every year.

Happy Easter!

It's Easter Sunday!

And yesterday I, Marvelous Marv,  met Benny!

Benny lives deep in a magical forest and Benny isn't just any rabbit—he is THE Easter Bunny, and his job is to deliver colorful eggs to children all over the world. Benny has a big, big secret--he is very clumsy!

He tells me that every spring, he and his team of cheerful chicks paint eggs in the brightest colors they could imagine.

But the challenge is to get the eggs delivered! Benny does not have a sleigh - like Santa, or super speed like super heros, he just has his his trusty scooter! He told me last year, on Easter Eve, he loaded his scooter with baskets full of eggs. He wore his bunny goggles, adjusted his floppy ears, and shouted, "Hop, hop, hooray! Time to roll!" But as he zoomed down the hill, CRASH!—he hit a bump, and eggs flew everywhere!

Luckily, Benny landed on his feet. He leaped around, picking up the eggs and catching the ones that went bouncing away. He's eggs-traordinary! By Easter Sunday sunrise, he had delivered every single egg to the children’s homes. Exhausted but happy, he hopped back to his burrow, tired, muddy but proud. He wasn’t perfect, but he was the best clumsy Easter Bunny there ever was.

And Benny told me that he learned that sometimes, delivering joy means laughing at your own silly mistakes—and having a team that’s always there to help.

The end. 🐰🐣

I'm HAPPY that I met Benny, he's one cool guy!

And Benny, the special Salmon Loaf you brought us (instead of chocolate) is DIVINE!!!

The Easter Bunny Came to Our House!

It is Easter Sunday! We hope you are all having a terrific day! We finally got our puzzles up for yesterday's art!

Earlier this week, we thought we would like to find the Easter Bunny's Easter Egg Development Center. As Queen Penelope knew the Easter Bunny, we started with her notes. And guess what we found!?!

Rapa Nui!

Easter Island goes by many names. The first people to arrive were Polynesian, and they named the island Rapa Nui. Then in 1722, Dutch explorers arrived on Easter Sunday and called the island after the holiday. These days the island is part of Chile. A Spanish-speaking country, they call it Isla de Pascua, which also means Easter Island.

Rano Kau, a 324-metre tall extinct volcano that has formed a crater lake in the southwestern end of Eastern Island. And THAT is where the Easter Bunny Harvests his eggs! We missed the bunny, he has already left. We headed back to our tunnel transport.

When we got back...there was a basket  from the Bunny himself!

I dug in, There were treats inside the eggs and Kozmo was giving me "helpful" directions as to how to get them out of the eggs!

Kozmo figures out how to pop the eggs open and devoured the treats!

There were treats for Cinnamon too!

Jo Jo wanted hers in the bedroom.

She too popped open the egg to get to the treats!

We hope you all had as Happy an Easter as Us!
