Welcome to December 2025! My FAVORITE Month of the year!

It's the Countdown to Christmas! Only 25 more days until the Jolly old elf delivers the presents! This year I've asked for a Yeowwww Nanner! Kozmo got one when he went to the vet at the end of November, and he does not like to share!

Anyway on to the badges!

Yep! Our Peeps do love us cats and we DO love them! This month we are going to make sure that we do all the things that make our Peep THANKFUL that we are in her life!

I don't know about you guys, but Peeps up here in the Great White North are hurting. The mill in our village closed last winter and the Chip Mill closed last month. The Mill in the nearest big town has cut back to only a single shift and that's just within 60 miles! Its happening everywhere! Shelters across North America are reporting record-high pet surrenders, driven by rising costs, housing instability, and long-term care challenges that many pet owners are unable to meet. We don't have much, but us cats (and Nutmeg) have said we will cut back so we can help our local shelter. December is Gift Your Shelter Month and we are gifting our local shelter extra this year to help them out.

And Kozmo wants everyone to know he is celebrating a week of THANKFULS!

He got to go and visit the Vet to get his blood taken for his Thyroid near the end of November. He also has been having joint pain issues and not only did he have a terrific visit with the Vets, Vet Tech and all the other staff, but he gotted some medication to help with his joints. Because he does take a lot of stuff for his thyroid, they are giving him a medication that just helps the joints (its NOT a pain killer). Well he IS feeling better and he wanted to celebrate a week of THANKFULS!

Mom is thankful too! Mr Kozmo had been waking Mom up a lot in the middle of the night and he has been sleeping better for the last week (so she is NOT as sleep deprived)!
Oh Yes, We thought we would post a picture of the Nanner (after each of us has had a "play" with it!)
Nanner guts EVERYWHERE!

YES! I did this!

December Events and What is SPECIAL this Month

Can you believe it is the LAST month of 2024!?! Wow! We can'tbelieve that we have been creating Badges since June! My but time flies when you are having fun. And speaking of FUN December is always full of fun at Casa De Marv!

This month we have 2 month long events!  First up it is Cat Lover's Month! We have loads of Cat Lovers here in our teeny tiny village. Loads of people have been dropping by to help take care of Mom and her broken leg and I, Marvelous have greeted (and loved) every single one of them! Mr Kozmo and Jo Jo are way more elusive. (They hide UTB) I, make sure that each visitor gets rubbed across their legs and that I have distributed my furs on their pants. I rub my face in their hands and (gasp) I have actually sat on some laps! Mom was gobsmacked the first few times.

Cat Lover's Month traces its roots to initiatives aimed at promoting cat adoption and responsible pet ownership. It was originally sponsored by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and they designated August for these activities, focusing on enhancing the welfare of cats. The effort evolved into a broader celebration, and by the mid-1990s, December was recognized as National Cat Lovers’ Month.

Next up, it is Gift Your Shelter Month. Our local shelter is a non-profit. They are also to organization that Lucifer will go to for his neutering before he comes back to Midway. I asked and they said they needed the “go-to” items. Their wish list includes items they use every day. A few of their “go-tos” are: cleaning supplies like paper towels, liquid bleach, spray bottles and disinfecting wipes, towels and washcloths, nail trimmers, non plastic food and water bowls, food grade storage containers, measuring cups, baby bottles and litter.

We have started collecting items as they were going on sale and we will try to deliver them before Santa arrives. If not, we will try for Orthodox Christmas (January 7)!

Now I gotta run and try to find our Christmas Tree...I know it is in a box somewhere downstairs...

Or I could ask Angel Nellie...
