August has arrived!

It has been Hot! Hot! Hot!

AND we are now heading into the EIGHTH Month! - AUGUST

There are 2 month long events

National Immunization Awareness

August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a perfect time to highlight the critical role vaccines play in protecting your pets’ health. Just like in humans, vaccinations are essential for preventing a range of infectious diseases in animals, ensuring they lead long, healthy lives.

And

August is National Dog Month!

Dogs are the #1 most commonly owned pets on the planet, and with good reason. Did you know that scientific studies prove our pawsome companions make us happier, less stressed, and more optimistic? The list of benefits to spending time with a dog goes on and on, but it all proves one thing––that a month-long celebration of our furry best friends has been a long time coming.

And August 1 is DOGust!

The Universal Pet Birthday!
Dogust 1st is the universal birthday for shelter and rescue dogs whose exact birth dates are unknown. It was created by North Shore Animal League America to give rescue pets a special day to celebrate and to help raise adoption awareness.

Why DOGust Exists

Unknown Past: Many rescue dogs come without papers, history, or birth records.
Shared Joy: August 1st gives every shelter pup a real day to get extra love, treats, and toys.
How People Celebrate
Special Treats: Bake or buy a dog-safe cake or special snacks.
Donate and Support: Give food, toys, or money to local animal shelters.
Adopt: Visit a rescue group to find a new furry best friend.

Kitchen Update
Today is Saturday and it is a long weekend here! We all have our claws crossed!
the #1 Reason is that Mom and Dean have mostly finished the Kitchen!

New Kitchen

THis means that all the "stuff" that used to reside in the cupboards and on the counter can now be taken out of where they are in the rest of the house.

Mom's Office/Kitchen

The coffee maker will no longer be in the bathroom,
Bathroom/Kitchen

the boxes of dishes, utensils and food will not be scattered throughout the living room

Dish Boxes, at front door

Now we get to put it all away and we will be able to vacuum up the dust/dog hair bunnies (some of them are as big as me - Marv)

  2. OMC OMD OHMYBARBIE is that new kitchen a dream come true!!! Wunerful, wunerful ... pickled pickles and pickled beets or whatever ... homemade cat food? homemade dog food? biscuits and gravy? apple pie? you may have to retire from ALL those 1001-jobs you hold and become a full time chef! ENJOY!

  3. The new kitchen is amazing! And to think it came in 98 boxes! Lordy, I wouldn't have know which box to open first but you all got it done. I feel for you to have to move every thing back into the cabinets after living out of boxes so long. Enjoy a cup of joe made in the new kitchen! And happy Doggy Days Nutmeg. Marv, we are sure you were a great snoopervisor and if my BFF Jo Jo knew best, she stayed out of the fray. Precious and Lynn

  4. Terrific, and concatulations!
If it was Eastside Cats, those boxes would stay in the other rooms indefinitely.

  7. Great job on the badges. I love the kitchen. I can relate to the inconvenience of home renovations. I am waiting on the painter to paint the spare room and everything from there is in my way. XO
