National Internet Cat Day is an annual observance held on 18 June, dedicated to the cats who have become global celebrities through the internet: the memes, the videos, the GIFs, and the social media accounts that have made felines the unofficial mascots of online culture. The day was founded by Kelly Wofford of LBK Wink in memory of her own internet cat, President Bill Clinton the Cat, who passed away on 18 June 2018. That date became the annual celebration in his honour.
The day connects two genuine passions: the love of cats, and the internet’s extraordinary ability to turn that love into shared cultural moments on a global scale.

Happy Internet day and keep on keeping on with it all. What would I do without BFF Jo Jo and our fun times together.
ReplyDeleteMarv, believe it or now, Mom said she'd not heard of that until today! She is so glad to see those links up there that you provided, Marv! She will visit. Tell my handsome mancat Kosmo I am sending my love and what would he like to do in celebration of this grand day? Wanna come over? A new bag of Temptations has your name on it. And I have a big beddie that'll fit two.

ReplyDeleteWell, I have lots of cat blogs to follow, so can't really pick one. I am just grateful for the connection afforded by the interwebs... albeit at the moment the signal is being very tardy and I am late (and sometimes missing) for posts like this! Hugs and whiskeries YAM-aunty xxx
