After Nutmeg showed it to me, I asked her what she wanted for National Dog Week. As a cat, I was expecting her to say, "Oh Marvelous, I would LOVE a new bone to chew" or "Oh Marvelous, could I chase you across the back yard?" This young grrl dog pulled out a LIST!
What does Nutcase want for national Dog Week?
Sunday - she wants home baked dog COOKIES!
Monday - she wants to watch 101 DALMATIANS! She heard it had dogs with Black spots just like she does
Tuesday - she wants to take a trip in the car up to Lassie Lake! A day trip in the country and a LAKE with a dog's name to swim in -- doggy heaven
Wednesday - she wants a new toy! Specifically a new BALL!
Thursday - she thinks a new CUDDLE bed would be PURRFECT! (she destroyed the one she stole from us cats)
Friday - a super duper meal! She says ROAST CHICKEN would be purrfect!
Saturday - A LONG visit with Tank!
Who is Tank?
Tank lives at the orchard in the Okanagan where Mom buys her fruit and vegetables for canning. Last Wednesday it was not as hot as it has been, so Mom let Nutmeg go with her to pick some stuff up at Canadian Tire and the Fruit Stand (where Tank lives). Tank is just a year older than she is and they met last fall and had a few visits (before Mom broke her leg). Tank and her were immediate furrends. They have only had 3 visits so far this year and that was before the summer heat. Every time Mom has stopped during the summer, Tank runs to greet the car and looks for Nutmeg. When Mom drove past the orchard on her way up, she did not stop and Nutmeg was very vocal! Then when they came back and Mom stopped, Tank was there as fast as his legs could carry him from the other side of the orchard!
They played for almost half an hour. They chased through the orchard, they played "Bump Chest", they played run and jump over each other and they LOVE every minute of their time together. When Mom was ready to go, they both were tired out! Nutmeg slept the hour it took to get home...she did not even wake up when Mom stopped for gas!
Nutmeg can't wait for her next visit!

ReplyDeleteI was adoptable per Lynn's wants fur me as I was the only cat at the orphanage that was high high up on the highest cat cubby on the climbing wall and would not come down. All the other kitties were all over her. She used a ladder to grab at me and I tried going higher but there were no more cubbies. So here I am now goin' on 13 years. Not a bad place to be so far. I'm keepin' track of anything she does wrong incase I need to find a better home, mol. I loved my time aboard the ship! I didn't even know I was not afraid of water!
We hope that Nutmeg gets all her wishes, but particularly the visit with Tank. And we would like ophotos, please!

I like all of your wants for National Dog week, Nutmeg! I think that I might NEED a new cuddle bed too and definitely another squeaky ball! You and Tank look like you have having lots of fun running together!

Java Bean: "Ayyy, I was a less-adoptable pet too, because I was shy! All the other dogs at the shelter in my group from Baja had been adopted except me and I was alone for a month. Then Mama spotted me at the shelter because I reminded her of Tucker, and she brought Lulu and Dada to meet me, and the rest is history!"

ReplyDeleteLady would get all the unadoptables (well not all at the same time of course), but Man has concerns. Hailey was less adoptable because of her issues. We cats were less adoptable because we were a pair and a bit older. We sent good vibes to all those waiting. May a Lady like ours find them. Tigris and Styx
