June has ARRIVED!

Can you believe we are entering our second year of doing the badges?

It has been a whole lot of fun! I am sure glad the others on the team (Terry, Sierra and Ann) are so adept at spotting typos (and other errors). They make us (Marvelous Marv and Mom Barb) look good! Thank YOU TEAM!

Here are all the June 2025 Badges that are available on the Catblogosphere. They have been downsized to 300x300 pixels for you. Feel free to grab them for your blog. To save the individual images to your computer, right-click and choose save image as. The save as dialog will open and you can chose where you want the image to reside. Alternatively, you can email me (nellieontheedge  @ gmail . com) and I will email the badge you want to you!

Have we missed an event or special Day or Week or a Month Cause? Let us know by email
( nellieontheedge  @ gmail . com ) and we will add it and create it for you!

Adopt a Cat, Adopt a Shelter Cat and Foster a Cat Month

Pet Appreciation Week June 1-7, 2025

The summer forecast at all shelters is cats, cats and more cats! Wednesday, June 1, not only kicks off Adopt a Shelter Cat Month—it is also at the height of kitten season! Shelters are preparing for a massive influx of homeless and newborn cats. And they hope to find homes for them all. If you can't adopt and you want to make a difference for cats this critical time of year, here are some ways you can get involved:
1 Fundraise - Local Shelters always need funds. Many animals rescued need medical help, food needs to be purchased and rent needs to be paid. Fundraising is so important to help your local shelter.
2. Adopt - If you can, You can make a major difference this season by adopting a new feline friend.
3. Come to their rescue. If you can't adopt, can you foster? Donate some time to their care and feeding at the local shelter? There are so many ways.
4. Donate - Kitten season is one of the most dangerous times of year for homeless cats and kittens. During this season, resources like food, money and space are stretched to the brink. Your donation today can support efforts to curb kitten season and find a home for every animal.

We will be donating to our local shelter - Boundary Helping Hands.

  3. MEOW. I'm leaving. When I saw your "headline", I seriously thought you were FEATURING ME: me, myself and I ... on your blog today. Not that I have a big ego, or am narcissistic or anything like that (we leave that to the manchild in the white house) ... anyways: I just got all excited, tail up, furs on end and all that stuff, you know, MOL-ing, and said to mine Mommy "I'm off to CannyDa, there's a pawty there for me!". Of course, she said, good riddance, you eat to much foodz, maybe they can afford to keep you, Marv says he loves you, don't claw him. So, now I'm here and you didn't mean ME at all. What a bummer, what a downer, so MEOW, I'm leaving. But mine Mommy said I has to give you a message, which is your badges are bootiful and concatulations on a years worth of great work, meow! 6. Fantastic badges as always, and not just because Precious is on top of the world, lol. Kittens, ah yes, I bet I will see some of the roaming cats bring their kittens out and about any time. If only I could feed a few dozen. And I hope there are not actually that many. Precious says I am not allowed more than her inside and she was adopted officially as my girl, so I must respect her wishes, as I spoil her no end. Happy June. I am hoping for a warm up as it is 42 this morn and the sky is filled with smoke from our good neighbors in the North. I only pray for their safety.

  8. I love the badge for pet week, really pretty one. My son has a mom and 5 babies that showed up starving, he is attempting to capture them to take to Humane society. he is fostering ferals, and he said he can't keep, keeping them. he has 10 cats 2 dogs and that is his limit. 3 cats in the house, one of which was a feral kitten.
he has been able to give the kittens to friends but now they are all kittened out, ha ha

  10. Charlee: "We definitely appreciate the shelters around here!"
Chaplin: "Yes, all of us except were adopted from the shelters, except for Oona of course. Oona was left on Dada's cousin's porch by a neighborhood cat and basically got adopted directly from there by ingratiating herself with Mama by sleeping on her lap for an entire Easter Sunday."
Oona: "What can Oona say? She is a ninja even when it comes to getting adopted."
