National Specially-Abled Pets Day - May 5, 2025

Sometimes an animal up for adoption needs a little more than a loving home, they need a very special Peep too! May 3 is Specially-abled Pets Day and we want to honor those who consider being that important person for an animal in need!
Specially-abled pets aren’t that different than other pets—they cuddle, play and show you how much they love you! But they may need an extra level of care or attention from their pet parents to make sure they’re safe, healthy and that their unique needs are met. When you add a specially-abled pet to your family, there’s nothing like the affection and appreciation you get back from them for giving them their best life possible.
Mom's grand pawrents were owned by a one eyed cat named Blinky! He was a terrific mouser and had the biggest purr in the universe. He looked very much like Morgan...Purrhaps that is why Mom really likes Tuxies...

Morgan in the Tri-State Area
 Ireland in West Virginia
Caleb in North Carolina and
Stevie in Los Angeles

If you’re not in a position to adopt, but you’d still like to help care for some special animals, becoming a foster caregiver is another way to make a difference!Check with your local shelter.

That's a great thought you give us at the end! I have known (through friends) a dog with three legs, a deaf dog, and a blind cat. All Loved and all very happy. Celebrate difference! Hugswagwhiskeries YAM-aunty xxx

  3. That is a great quote. When I have a bad day of pain I remind myself there are so many people worse off than me.
Before we were married, I had a one eyed cat called Patch. I think I was tempting fate when I called him that because he had two eyes when I took him in. One day he came in from the fields with his eye hanging out and the vet removed it. We don't know what happened, maybe kicked by a cow or caught up in brambles.

  5. Marv, you are so right. We must give thanks fur evfurry thing evfurry day. And you got the comfy-est place to think on life. Angel Peepers became a tripod at age 6, and at furst she needed much help but soon, with all the steps built and placed evfurry where, she became a terrific climber fur the next few years. Pets mostly want luv and then their problems seem less to them than to hoomans. Precious
