Pet ID Week April 17-23

National Pet ID Week always starts April 17, this year it is a Thursday! And it lasts for 7 days.
Its intent is to raise awareness about the importance of micro-chipping pets and using ID tags to ensure that they will quickly be returned home if lost.
Alas, only 58% of pets who end up in shelters are registered in microchip databases.
Having a pet chipped is important but one thing that is often forgotten, is that chip records also need to be updated if you move.
Nutmeg has a Chip and its tag, her Rabies Tag and her Dog Licence!

Nuts, we are going to add your brand new rabies tag to your necklace!

All that glitters!

Nutmeg's collar also has an Apple Air Tag attached to it too! Mom really wants Nutmeg found if she gets lost!
Mom found this terrific infograph with loads to think about pets and why ID is so impawtant!

I, Marvelous Marv, am chipped. I got it when I lived in Iran, and Mom had a heck of time registering it when I moved here. My vet in Vancouver was from Iran too and he was excited to meet a fellow country person. He made sure that my chip information got transferred. Mom had no problems when we moved to Midway. AND I have a Driver's Licence!

We want to share with you a short video of Nutmeg's walk with Alex at Boundary Creek.
They walked up to the falls!

  1. That is a lovely place to walk to, and it looks like Nutmeg enjoyed it.

  3. Nutmeg, whata waterfall. We are glad you gotta great home and the mom makes sure you can be identified. Just nevfur evfur give her a reason to do so. I gotta chip at the orphanage and even though I can go no further than the catio, Lynn feels reassured with it. I'd rather have pierced ears and diamonds, though. Maybe BFF Jo Jo has diamonds? Kozmo would have one gold hoop.

  4. We are both chipped and wear a bunch of tags whenever we leave home. You can never be too safe.

  6. I'm sure Nutters had a lot of fun there.

Yes, get them chipped. No cat leaves the cat shelter without a chip.

  7. Chaplin: "We are all chipped here! And a few of us even are willing to wear collars, by which I mean me."
Charlee: "I am willing to wear my collar! It just irritated my chinny-chin-chin so I had to stop."
Oona: "Try to get Oona to wear her collar. Just try. Oona dares you."
