Ho! Ho! Ho!
Are you starting to feel like Christmas?
Back in the last century, Mom used to get a ton of Christmas Cards...
The year that the Cards numbered more than 100, Mom decided that the next year she would donate $1 for every card she got for Christmas Hampers for those in need. And she sent a note to everyone that sent us cards that was what she was doing starting the next Christmas. Mom has done that almost every year since. Mom DOES send ecards, especially to our Blogging furrends. And for those special friends who are not online she does buy (or make) a few cards and we do receive a few, BUT us and Mom still donate money for those in need. This year we are donating to the shelter and the food bank.
Mom has quite a Christmas Card collection that resides in one of the Christmas Boxes in the basement. Mom's Mom started it and some of the cards are over 100 years old!
Mom thinks this one is as old as she is!
We think Mom should get them all out and digitize them all - but maybe next year, (Mom's not very mobile this year).
We LOVE Christmas! We LOVE Christmas Cards! If you would like us to send you an ecard, leave us a post!
We are pawticipating in the AWWW Monday Blog Hop at Comedy Plus!

ReplyDeleteHeck, I jus' can't get my head into Christmas...and I've even been to the German markets. I used to be sooooo good with cards... sigh... hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx
love love love the Header and they are the perfect Christmas cards to me. I only do email cards, and stopped many years ago. I love eCards, but then no one can save them for 100 years. your old card looks like what I remember from my youth. I think I remember. ha ha
ReplyDeleteOur post is so expensive now that I send less snail mail and more email. It is £2.80 for every single card I send overseas be it EU or New Zealand. If I lived in the US I could send three cards for slightly more than that! At least they haven't gone on strike this year like they did last year, they have left that to Canada instead!
ReplyDeletewe love da santa in the fireplace.. what a noise if he comes through our glass door the night before christmas.. wow...

DeleteMarv, yer mommy better not be climbin' the basement stairs! Lynn has so few family left, she only mails paper cards to 1/2 dozen. We here your postals have decided not to work for now, so I guess you will get less paper anyway. We luv seein' the old card and it makes Lynn think back to the days of dinosaurs to the ones her family got. Precious
ReplyDeleteWe love sending and receiving Christmas cards. Ours got delayed because the UPS guy couldn't (or didn't try) to get them delivered for 3 days straight. We are finally all set to send our out, but have to hold off on any going to Canada. We sure hope the strike ends soon so they don't ruin everyone's Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we like sending and receiving cards too.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do cards anymore. I used to though. Loved doing it and now it's a chore. I do love all my blogging buddies and you're right there on the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the beautiful card you sent. I'm so glad Mrs. Claus found our gift.
I linked this post to Awww Mondays.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marvelous Marv and big healing hugs to mom. ♥
We didn’t participate,hopefully next year!
ReplyDeletemarv, where did yoo go?
ReplyDeleteI remember the good old days when there would be lots of cards and letters near Christmas. Love the old cards a lot

That is such a great idea. I sent a card, but I have no idea when you will get it because of the strike. XO
ReplyDeleteThat was a lot of cards back in the day! It's fun to get cards from blogging pals!
ReplyDeleteWe are super frustrated with blogger blogs right now because we subscribe to some like yours but we don't ever get the posts. We tried to sign up again and it says we already get your posts but we don't, not even in spam. It is sad because we love you guys but we can't always remember all the blogs we have to remember to visit because we don't get posts via email.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Our Dada just finally got our Christmas cards! He is running late this year, the big slacker!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "We love how you help out us animals and dogs who are in need this time of year!"
Love your header ~ it's Four Cards In One! If'n it weren't for (da postal strike) we could send some cards to all of you (actually some are sitting in a post office somewhere ... ha ha ... from once upon a time) and soon another will sit in that same post office alongside it, but when Valentines Day or Easter ... or better yet: April Fools Day comes around your mail box will overflow! And you can sit by the river front and enjoy reading cards the whole day long. HAPPY ........ CARD DAY! (just fill in the blank)
ReplyDeleteIt sure is fun to give and receive cards, isn't it? We are just now getting ours finished, and then we're gonna be addressing and sending them to our pals like you! XO
ReplyDeleteWe would love to send you an e-card...not sure if we have the correct address, thoiugh I think we do...my brain is in such a muddle!
ReplyDeleteThat's cool that you all those cards, including the vintage ones.
