Kozmo's Thankful Thursday

Mom, Me and Cinnamon went for our walk this morning and you know what, the temperature was above freezing! I was making plans to go in and out all day, when Mom reminded me that I would be going to go see Dr Ruth today.

I have been feeling wonderful since I started taking my thyroid medicine. I have gained 24 ounces and I have quit yelling all the time. When I went (to the vet) a month ago, I saw Dr G, (as Mom had to change the time of my appointment) so I was excited to find out I would be seeing Dr Ruth today.

I LOVE Dr Ruth! She has been taking care of me my whole life and she calls me her Mr Kozimoto and she gives me treats, I give her purrs, head butts and whisker kisses, I even try to eat her hair. I wanted to look my best so I asked Mom if I could wear my new tie.

It is an hour ride in good weather so Mom put me in the carrier. and we headed out about an hour and a half before the appointment. We got to Grand Forks (BC) about 5 minutes early. I did not have to wait too long for my appointment and I ran over to Dr Ruth when Mom let me out of the carrier. She admired my tie and then she and I went into the back room where I got weighed, cuddles and had my blood stolen. I am so good, that Dr Ruth did not even need any help! After she brought me back to Mom, we had to sit and wait for the test results. There were very many dogs coming in and out to see Dr G and Dr Ruth. I was glad I was inside my carrier and I could see all of them, but they could NOT see me. When we got the test results, Dr Ruth told us the thyroid Meds have been working. The good news is I have gained weight and that my thyroid levels have dropped...the bad news is that my thyroid levels have dropped too far. I now have to take 1 pill in the morning and only one half in the evening and I will come back to see Dr Ruth in 2 weeks. As Dr Ruth really liked my tie, I think I'll wear my new tuxedo bandana next visit - I can't wait to see her face when she sees a Tux in a Tux!

I am thankful that My Mom takes good care of me and I am thankful that Dr Ruth does too! I am looking forward to seeing her again!

We are Thankful for you ALL!!!

    1. Lynn is forever getting her thumbs in the wrong place oh, sorry about that. She wanted to tell you that we were both very glad to hear that you're much better and you get to take less medicine. I am never friendly when I go to the doctor oh, they terrify me. I'm glad you have a better experience. Precious

    2. Precious, I, Marv, feel your scaryness about vets! Jo Jo and me require welding gloves when we go (we are biters). Kozmo is one of the nicest sweetest cats on the planet. He even gets along with most of the dogs in the village! Every Vet tech and Vet he has seen (and he has been to vets in Calgary, Vancouver as well as here) has loved him to bits.

  6. That is such a great tie, Kozmo. I'm going to ask #1 if I can have one like it!

I'm glad your thyroid levels have dropped, although I also hope they get back to where they should be very soon! Keep up the good work.

  7. I am glad your meds are working so well, Kozmo. It is good to have a vet who loves you and you love in return. We had a vet like that for my horse. If he was in the area he would call in, not to see us but my horse!

  9. Kozmo, my mom 2was anxious that you be all better and looks like you are! This will probably be the last adjustment for you for a while. Mom said Admiral went through that too with hers. Just one adjustment is all she had, and a check up a few times a year. XXX You look mahvulous in your tie and certainly in your Tux. You are THE most handsome boy out there!

  19. You look so debonair and handsome in that tie, Kozmo. Pretty good news from the very nice vet too. Thyroid medications often have to be tweaked. None of us have thyroid issues now, but some of our Angels did. Happy Thursday.
