Caturday Art and We are so Furry Far Behind...

It started snowing on Thursday right after Cinnamon and Mom got home from their Morning walk. It was not cold so the snow was heavy and wet. And mushed down. Mom shovelled the driveway and sidewalk at Noon, 4:30 PM and 8:30 PM (Cinnamon did not get a second walk but she DID romp in the snow and chase her ball while Mom shovelled).

This Morning it was not snowing and the sun was starting to shine. Only about another inch had fallen, so Mom shovelled the sidewalk and the driveway down to the street. She stuck the shovel in the snow pile and headed off up the unplowed street. The street was really icy. After only walking past the next door neighbor's house Mom fell and her leg got bent backwatds under her and hyper extended her knee. Bruised her hip and her shoulder . She got into the house and put on ice and elevated her leg. Her knee turned into a melon! She spent the afternoon doing RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevate) and did a little work for tomorrow  (Mom is the online tech support for a Zoom session an organization she belongs to has, Mom is in charge of all the breakout rooms).  So between her moaning and whining and staggering around the house on old crutches we did NOT get to visit our online furrends (We have still missed some still from Thursday and Today!)

We are going to make sure that Mom visits on Sunday!

We did have a lovely piece of art we did of Jo Jo that we created last week!

It was from this Photo

And this is what we turned her pawtrait into! I LOVE the colors.

We also made it into a puzzle!

  1. Oh my, that sounds very nasty in deed. Hopefully the staff will be feeling less inflamed and sore tomorrow. Till then, restup and keep each other cosy and well fed and watered.

  5. Your poor mum! I hope she soon recovers from her injuries. If she can get Arnica gel, not the human sort that is a waste of time but the big pots for horses, it is very good for bringing out bruises and very soothing.
The art is lovely, and thanks for the puzzle.

  6. Jo Jo you are simply glamorous with or without the artwork what a beautiful picture. We are so sorry your mom has hurt her leg so badly. What a nasty snowfall so quickly and so deep. Makes me sorry I complained about the inter to that I had. We are so glad that all four of you furry Pals do not stray far from home. Tell your mom to take care of that leg and will look for you later. Lynn and Precious

  8. Jo Jo, you truly look especially gorgeous in your portrait. The color one is also lovely, but the first one, I will admit, is my fave Tell your Mom I feel super sorry about what happend. I had a similar incident several years ago and I had to live with that for weeks. Very painful. I wonder if one of the so-called Farm Stores in your area would carry the arnica gel that Jackie mentioned?

  12. We are just a little bit jealous of all your snow. It's been too warm for any snow to stick around here. Our paws are crossed that your mom feels better soon. That sounded like a nasty fall.

    1. She's got the spikes for the boots. These were new boots that are "supposed" to be extra grippy and good to -40 (same C&F). They lied. Mom has put the spikes on her new grippy boots for her next trip outdoors.

  27. Oh no!!! Poor Mom!!!! Ice can be treacherous. We hope she recovers well and takes it easy in the meantime. Mom wears Yak-Traks on her feet if there is any sign of ice out there. They help a lot.
