Pete Lake and Sammich!

Wordless Wednesday

Pete Lake

We are pawticipating at Wordless Wednesday at Comedy Plus! Click on Sandee's Badge to be magically whisked to her site where you can see all the other wonderful wordless posts!

Bring on the Food!

We are pawticipating in The Canadian Cats and The Weims to make a SAMMICH!

We are making his work lunch to take to Pete Lake.

And we are making Alex's favorite Sammich! Alex has allergies, some of which are gluten (so no bread) and  Tomatoes!

The Pete Lake Sammich

The ingredients are:

Gluten Free Wrap (this one is made from Rice Flour)

Deli Pastrami

Lettuce (sliced thin)

Havarti Cheese (your favorite cheese shredded)

Cream Cheese

Step 1: Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on the wrap

Step 2: Add the shredded Lettuce

Step 3: Add the Pastrami, you can squirt some Mayo or Mustard on the Pastrami, we used garlic Mayo.

Step 4: Add shredded Havarti or your favorite cheese.

Step 5: Carefully fold in the edges (rice wraps are fragile).

Step 6: Roll the wrap, note the cream cheese helps "glue" the wrap together.

Step 7: Slice! You can then EAT your creation or wrap it for later.

Now you can go to Easy's and see Phenny and Nellie's Creation

Or Shoko and Tybee's to see theirs!

Hmm, that wouldn't do this vegetarian chick, but I totally understand how others would love it! That lake, though, is very much to my taste. Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  5. Pete Lake looks beautiful, we would like to go there and maybe take a sandwich roll along for a picnic!

  6. The sandwich sounds very tasty. I would omit the lettuce though as there are two things I really do not like, lettuce and celery! Even hearing someone crunching on celery makes me cringe.
    Pete Lake looks beautiful.

  8. I can't believe my luck. I am a bread addict. I am gaining weight from eating bread. TODAY I am stopping the bread and I printed Xena recipe and this one and they will help me do this because I love sammich over any other food. I once lost 10 lbs in 10 days eating PB sandwich. Use 12 grain bread or any grain bread, smear peanut butter on and make two sandwiches each morning. slice in half. eat 1/2 sandwich for breakfast, 1/2 for break 1/2 for break and 1/2 for dinner. bob and i did it together and it worked

  11. Yummy wrap. I ate the whole thing. I hope you don't mind. I did wait to get to the lake before I ate it though.

  18. We would love to visit the lake named after Dad, Pete. We like Wraps as they are nice to wrap in tin foil for transport. Dad says you can just pop them in your coat pocket MOL

  20. What a peaceful looking lake, Marv. That form of sammich looks absolutely PERFECT. Mom has never tried a wrap but she's going shopping today and will pick up a wrap. Yes, she will pay for it too. Thanks for stirring a fire underneath mom to try something different,

  21. What a great way to make a yummy meal that stays true to the dietary needs. Seems like there is no deprivation despite the allergies.
My detox diet is far more restrictive, LOL!

    1. Alex's diet has gotten quite restricted. Now we have to cut out all members of the nightshade family! Tomatoes, Tomatillos, eggplant, all peppers, which means I have to read ALL labels! Apparently when it says "spice" in the ingredients, it is often one pepper or another.I was reading the yellow mustard label on the mustard we have in the fridge and it has tomato paste and spice.

    2. Yup, I spend way more time than anyone else I know reading labels on everything. Even known products cause sometimes they change...sigh...nightshades are in the category of no-no for me too, though I am not allergic, I just find they aggravate my joints a lot. So I do limit them. Salsa! Shucks...its full of them...sigh...
What I am very allergic to is psyllium. aka Metamucil. just bought a keto recipe book for baking...and its full of recipes that use that, likelu as a binder. Phooey. And then I found a new product in the store, some kind of 'healthy chip', vegan/keto/paleo/whole 30 certified...and yup it had the dreaded ingredient too.
I can't have tonic water (Quinine) or yellow dyes either, I will get hives all over. Been in the ER a couple times for that junk...
Ah well, one learns to live with detours...and adaptation.
