This week Jo Jo is doing the Friendly Fill-Ins
You can click on the buttons to be magically taken to 15 and Meowing and the Four-Legged Furrballs blogs!
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins. Ellen of 15 and Meowing came up with the first two and her co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
2. I could use a refresher class in chasing the red dot! Our laser pointer got broken (the culprit shall remain nameless) last November and we have not had a chase since!
3. Life would be much simpler if I were an only pet.
4. I would like to go eat my breakfast, but first I have to get past the pawpawrazzi!
Jo Jo will be 8 years old this month. Back in July of 2013, Mom and Dad were selling Beary Good Stuff at the farm market, when a young girl showed up with 3 tiny kittens in a box, that she had to get rid of. When she put the box on the ground, a small tiger leapt out of the box and tore across the grass. Dad reached out and as it scuttled past, he grabbed it. Mom said she would take the kitten back to the girl, but Dad said, "No, I think this little one is coming home with us!" And she did!
She was very young, just a little over 4 weeks old. But boy she was feisty! She whapped and hissed at Kozmo and Queen Nellie and the hairy slobbery sisters Bob and Cinnamon. But right from the beginning she loved her Dad and would sit in his lap for hours purring.
She loves her house on the river and hated it when she had to come and stay with Mom in Vancouver. A few times, when Dad came to visit, she escaped and a neighbor had to come in and feed her. Dad used to hide the carrier in the bathroom cupboard and the morning they would be driving down, he would put her in the bathroom until he was ready to leave.
Funnily, she was no problem at all when it was time to come home. She was particularly upset during the 6 months she had to live in Vancouver when Dave was in the hospital after his accident. When we moved to Midway when Dad got out of the hospital, she was so very happy. And she spent most of her time sitting on or laying beside Dave. She still misses her Dad. She is not at all fond of the other animals, and we very seldom see her with or even near the others.
I will walk across the room and whap Marv, just because.

We love your story, Jo Jo! You look so ferocious, Marv!
ReplyDeleteJoJo you were one smart kitten that day - out of the box and into the arms of your new family! Life is a series of ups and downs but in the end if we're secure and well cared for it's ONE HAPPY RIDE isn't it....
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy
That second photo with the laser pointer is absolutely perfect. Oh, and dad said he'd love to share his syrup with your mom... not! Sorry, he's kind of selfish when it comes to his favorite foods.
ReplyDeleteMom should send you her Blueberry Maple Ketchup recipe.
DeleteBrofurs ARE creepy, aren't they?!? The way they just sit there and LOOK at you ... ~Ellie Mae
ReplyDeleteAt 4 weeks, you knew your dad as soon as you saw him. You have a wonderful story to tell, thank you for
ReplyDeletesharing. And of course, a girl has to keep Marv in line, so I figure an occasional whap is just right.
It ought to be a great birthday this month. Lynn and Precious
What a story about Jo Jo. She knows it was her dad who wanted and rescued her and she will never forget. We are sad he is gone and sad Jo Jo misses him so. Some cats are just one person cats I guess. Bailie has her birthday this month, so we know it is a good month for birthdays.
ReplyDeleteJoJo, I love knowing your history. You were such a baby, did your dad or mom have to bottle feed you? That picture of you holding the red dot maker is pawfect!
ReplyDeleteGreat Fill-ins and photos. We think JoJo knew what she was doing right from the start.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed learning more about you today Jo Jo, and those were good answers!
ReplyDelete#1 was funny.
ReplyDeleteFolks used to suggest we get Madi a 'friend'. I would tell them Madi sent me a message via ESP that this house only had room for one diva and no way did she want a brudder.
Hugs Cecilia

ReplyDeleteMarv's creeping is creepy! It would be worse if he had a clown hat on!
ReplyDeleteActually, it is Jo Jo's imagination of the incidents...she has an active imagination!
DeleteTHAT got mommy laughing, about the hat! YOu're right, she said.
DeleteJoJo it was nice to learn a bit more about you ! You certainly are a kitty who knows her own mind.
ReplyDeleteHappy June Birthday to Jo Jo. We enjoyed hearing about your life, especially as a wee one. We have a June birthday this month, Timber, and then in July it will be MIsty's turn:) Let all the parties begin!!!
ReplyDeleteWoos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Wonderful story of a very smart kitten.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful relationship between her and her dad! Loved learning more about Jo jo!
ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. How sad that Jo Jo no longer has her favorite person though. XO
ReplyDeleteJo Jo, we love all your photos, especially the second one, and learning more about you. We know you still miss your dad and always will. You knew exactly what you were doing when you jumped out of that box. Several of us would prefer to be only cats! XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, angel Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer & Kizmet
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Gotcha story! While i am sad your most specialest person is gone, i know you are still loved and doted on.
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "Nice 'Jaws' impression, Marv!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "We're gonna need a bigger bed! And, Jo Jo, sometimes Charlee comes and whaps me just because, too."
Charlee: "It's not 'just because' when I do it. It's payback for all the times you jump on me when I'm not looking."
Chaplin: "How do you know it's me if you're not looking?"
Charlee: "Who else would it be? Lulu?"
Chaplin: "Maybe."
Lulu: "Don't drag me into this."
