We don't often get really good pictures of Jo Jo. She is the mistress of closing her eyes, moving and just plain leaving! She also likes to run and hide under the bed when she sees Mom walking around with her phone. But she knows about Gratitude.
In life, there is always something to be grateful for. Over the last 4 years Jo Jo's life has been tumultuous. She could complain about how chaotic the world is and how people have moved her from here to there, but she says complaining without action doesn’t change anything. She says that we should be thankful for everything we have, instead of what we do not have, we will to appreciate our life here more.
Simple things, like being able to go outside, good food and warm beds–these are given to us freely. Sometimes it’s just a matter of how we view them. We may hate the snow, but guess what, we can go outside and we can come back in. We may not like Friskies wet food, but guess what, we have food. We may not like how much Mom thrashes around in bed, but we can go and sleep with Alex, or on the sofa or in a dog or cat bed.
Even with the the disruptions, and the pain we have gone through these last years, they can be a blessing too! These things teach us what really matters most in life. This encourages us to be the best version of ourselves.
we have some tears in our eyes now... you said it so very well...
ReplyDeleteIndeed there is a lot to be grateful for, if you just take the time to look about you and think a little about it.

Pass the box of tissues please. This is just beautiful. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Scritches all around and a smooch to Marv and a huge hug to mom. ♥
Very well said. There are so many things to be thankful for if we just take the time to see them.
ReplyDeleteThat was a beautiful post and being thankful, even when it isn't easy, helps the heart smile at what we have. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThis is all so true. We kitties have so much to teach humans about gratitude.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help all of the cats who have no shelter, Jo Jo! I cry when I see cats hiding, knowing that they are toughing it out because they have to.
ReplyDeletei'm grateful to be out of the orphanage for 8 years now. And Lynn says she's
ReplyDeletegrateful she found me. we have a fur bond that can't be broken no matter where
we might someday go. Precious PS: Jo Jo you are a pretty girl kitty.
It sounds like JoJo has a lot to be thankful for. We're thankful that our pawrents adopted us all those years ago.
ReplyDeleteJo Jo is a very wise kitty!
ReplyDeleteYou are a fabulous kitty
ReplyDeleteMama is super thankful for all the many many kitties on the internets. Since she can't have a thousand cats at home, your presence in the net makes it easier for her to trudge along these covid highways.
ReplyDeleteEmma and Buster
Jo Jo sure is smart! There is a lot to be thankful for in our lives. XO
ReplyDeleteThat is a great photo of Jo Jo. Have a beautiful day.
ReplyDeleteLovely JoJo! We are also grateful you showed your pretty eyes today:)
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, we too are grateful for the home we now have...and food and beds and toys and love and so on...and best of all the doggy doors to the outside!! Only locked when we are supposed to guard the den...or at bedtime.
And yes, the peeps have learned through the good times and the bad times to think on their blessings.
Love the descriptions of your happy lives in a loving home, that is something that always makes us feel grateful and cheerful!
ReplyDeleteJoJo it's nice of you to cooperate and allow your Mom to take a NICE "Selfie" of you! Gratitude for the things we have is very important knowing so many have so much less. I'm just happy all of you are safe, healthy, and together!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Teddy and Mom Pam
You are a smart kitty, JoJo and very much loved.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post. Dad says he tries to remind himself that things could always be so much worse whenever he bitches about something. He's gotten much better about it, though.
ReplyDeleteGratitude is not always easy, but it is something one needs to always have. No matter how bad you think things are in your life, pets or humans, there are always others who are much worse off. A home with food and love is all one really needs. Great reminder to find gratitude every day.
ReplyDeleteJoJo you are so right. we should all be thankful for our daily lives. one of my gratefuls is the fact I can walk and walk freely without pain. so many of my friends and now my hubby can't do that. the fact we can walk to the mail box and back is reason for joy... I just wrote on Comedy's post that as i peeled and orange a few moments ago, i realized how thankful I am that we have apples, oranges and grapes in our home and not one but two gallons of milk. as a child we had no milk and no fruit. and now i do
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful post. We agree about being thankful for the moments, however short and tiny they may be.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Tama and Genji (And woofs to Cinnie from Ollie)
This is a wonderful post!!! We all need to remind ourselves of the things we have and not the things we don't have!
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
That is a beautiful Thankful post Jo Jo, my eyes are all wet. Have a wonderful day sweet kitties and peeps!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good attitude!
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "That is a wonderful attitude to have, Jo Jo!"
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "Of course, being cats, we're entitled to all of those good things, plus, you know, abject worship, even if we don't always get them. So it's good to be grateful when we do."
Lulu: "Wait, you think you're entitled to abject worship???"
Charlee: "It's a cat thing. You wouldn't understand."
Mistress JoJo of closed eyes...that is quite the title...and it sounds like it was well earned.
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with your thankfulness. If nothing else, this last year has reminded us each day is a present
Hugs Cecilia
We agree totally. And our Rumpy is the great eye closer here. Dad has to use no flash and that works, a little
ReplyDeleteWonderful post Jo Jo. You have much to be thankful for. XO
ReplyDeleteThese are such wise words!
ReplyDeleteAll so true. If we woke up tomorrow and only had what we were grateful for today, what would we have? That's why i am thankful for even the smallest and simplest things.
