Professional Pet Sitter Week

First introduced by Pet Sitters International (PSI) in 1995, Professional Pet Sitters Week™ takes place annually the first full week of March.

This annual observance honors professional pet-care providers, seeks to educate the pet-owning public about the advantages of professional in-home pet care and encourages pet-loving entrepreneurs to explore professional pet sitting as a viable career.

PSI's 2025 Professional Pet Sitters Week, March 2-8, will mark the 31st annual celebration!

Thank Your Pet Sitter Day (created by PSI in 2023) is now also celebrated the Wednesday during each Professional Pet Sitters Week.

When our Dad was in the hospital in Kelowna and Mom was working in Vancouver, Mom hired a pet sitter most weekends to come and take care of Kozmo, Jo Jo and me Marvelous Marv! (Mom took Cinnamon with her). The lady who came and took care of us was a Professional Pet Sitter and we loved her. Especially Mr Kozmo. Kozmo needs to take thyroid medication on a daily basis and the lady who came in was the best! She even taught Mom the best way to give it to him.

Not quite the same over here... instead it is house-sitting but you say whether you are keen on pets. Anyone willing to take up cares, though, should definitely be recognised! Hugs and whiskeries, YAM-aunty xxx

  4. one of the women I worked with before retirement, make really good extra cash Pet sitting. she is a really good dog trainer, but still works at the office job, but now works from home. she just moves in with the pets and can work and be there as long as needed, she has a sister that shares their home and she is home with their 4 dog and 6 cats... allows them to take cruises now and then.

  5. We've never had to use a pet sitter, but we know how valuable they are to those that do.

  6. Marv, I have never been baby sat by anyone 'cept Lynn. She tells me that Angel Seney had a cat sitter fur a few years. Nice lady who brought her 6 year old daughter. But the daughter was naughty and broke a few things she should not have touched. Then Seney started traveling fur the next 5 years and never had a sitter agin.
