Walk Your Dog Day

At our house, Dogs and Walking come in #2 and #3 of our Mom's favorite things!
(of course Cats is #1 Mom is a Crazy Old Cat Lady!)

Mom LOVES walking and she has walked with her dogs since she was a kitten herself! She has NOT been able to go out for a walk since she broke her leg last October, but Nuts has had some great romps with a whole bunch of different walkers! First is her human Bro - Alex! He has picked up where Mom left off and Nuts ust adores going for walks with him. If the weather is nice she LIVES to chase after him on his one wheel. When Alex was working on the cruise ships in October and the first couple of weeks of February, Hudson, the 14 year old up the street took her for some terrific walks and runs twice a day!  Nutmeg just loves all the energy that her Huddie has and how he likes to run! And Mom's Friend Val takes Nuts for at least 1 - 2 hour hike up the mountain at least 2 times a week.
Here are some photos of Nutmeg on the river walk.

This is just west of the Village campground. Our house is east of the bridge!

This is coming down the trail that goes up to the flag at the top of the mountain across the river

This is Nuts looking up the trail to the Disk Golf Course

We are losing the snow fast! It fell the second last week of January and was just over and just under freezing. Then it got really cold for a week and when it started to warm up again, we got even more snow! Now, it is starting to warm up and the snow is melting fast. We are pretty sure there will not be much snow left by the end of the month. That will make walking really MUDDY!
(Mom is NOT looking forward to that!

  1. Nutmeg is very lucky with all the people who take her on good long walks. Your break is a long slow process and I hope it is improving for you.

  2. Great thing your furiends like to be outside in the cold and snow Nutmeg. You get a real work out. Yer mom will be out there when the grass is green and fresh air is mild. But she may not mountain climb with you. Lynn shivers as the neighbors must walk their dogs in the winter as it has been too bitter to go out fur her. But we have February thaw coming today and by Mon or Tues our snow will be gone too. We home fur 12 months, mol.

  3. How nice that Nutmeg has friends she can play with and go on hikes with while your mom heals. It's tough to walk a dog or even just a human around here as most of the trails are covered in ice!

  4. Loving the snowy vibe today, and that Nutmeg is enjoying oodles of fun walks. We hope your leg is all better, as there's nothing worse than being in a full-leg plastercast for what seems eternity... the P.A. has experienced this, and says it was fluffing dreadful!
