Jo Jo Art on Caturday

Oh Oh! We have not had a chance to get out and comment on our furrends blogs too much the last 2 days. Mom has been super busy. Yes she is STILL painting. She painted the hallway this week, another 5 coats to get the walls nice and white. Mom has been cursing cigarettes and very old enamel paint. Dad smoked and he smoked in the house. He did not quit until he had his accident. Mom did wash all the walls when she moved back, but the ceiling in the dark hallway, well, it never got scrubbed.  The smoke stained the ceiling and is hard to cover.  The old paint on the walls was shiny and old. VERY old (like early 1960's old) There was a possibility that it has lead in it, so Mom did not want to sand the walls before painting  She did some research and found a great product that takes the shine off paint and you can paint on top of it. It is also safe for pets and kids (and hands). Mom just had to wipe it on and then rinse with water right after (2 foot square sections). Even though the hall is small it took Mom almost of 1 day to use TSP on the walls and ceiling and then the gloss off and she got all the holes filled. It took 2 days and 5 coats to cover the walls and 2 coats for the ceiling. Today was the inside of the linen closet.

Top it off, she had carrots that had to get pickled, the garden to get prepped for planting garlic and Cinnamon's and Alex's dinner (Mom makes Cinnamon's Dog Food). Mom does volunteer work on Tuesday, so it has been a busy week.

Tomorrow she has to go to the big city...I am hoping she gets back early so we have time to comment and not just read everyone's posts.

Kitchen before

Kitchen After - the floor is about 1/2 laid in the house and it looks terrific!

Now onto the Art!

I was sitting watching Mom and she came and sat down for a minute and Jo Jo joined us. I got a terrific shot of her!

Yes, she is giving me the "stink" eye...

I used the PAAINT app cartoon filter and I got a most wonderful piece of art!

And we made a puzzle!

Our Furrend Athena (she is even more of a Goddess in real life!) hosts Artsy Caturday. Her Mom (Marie) has been going through a lot with the passing of her beloved brother in Sweden. We know how difficult such a traumatic event can be and we send her all our love, support and strength. Marie, you are in our prayers.  Click on her button to be whisked to Athena's blog where you can see her Mom's gorgeous art.

  3. Jo Jo, if that is your stink eye, it must from the paint and cleaner and new floors and Marv telling such a tail. Your mom and your human brother should get an award for the work. At least it will never have to be done again in a zillion million years. I'm purr-sonally glad Marv got a picture of you for art work before Mom starts up with the cooking and gardening. Precious

  4. The flooring looks great and the new paint made everything so much brighter. But Mom got tired just reading about all the work your Mom had to do. The cartoon filter gave you a very nice piece of art. We would be giving our Mom the stink eye if she disrupted our routine that much too.

  5. Hello all you darlings...mommy too...everyone is so busy! But then, it will be over and you will all enjoy the fruits of your (mommy's) labour. Katie sends smoochies to you-know-who. Mommy said thank you for your loving words in our saddest of times. They meant a lot and mommy is saving all of them.

  15. Gorgeous photo and art. TW gets exhausted just reading what your mom is doing. She dusted all the living room furniture today so Pop could decorate for Halloween and then needed a nap.

  16. That's a wonderful JoJo photo. Your mom is a busy lady, tell her she can just read my blog (or not) as she has time, and i won't expect comments until the rush is over.

By the way, it's one of my favorite things to say, "As soon as the rush is over, I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I earned it, I deserve it, and no one is going to deprive me of it!" Of course, the rush is never over, but that's another issue...
