Poetry and Thanks!

Marv's Doggerel on Poetry Thursday at Two Spoiled Cats

We LOVE Sammy's Poetry. He does such a great job and we love that he sends |Teddy and Mom photos for next week along with his terrific poems. I am not really good at it but I do get inspired some times and this week, I Marv, was INSPIRED!

We stop at the stand at the side of the lane
THis is not the first time, we have come again!
Did you see that tomato?
And look at that potato?
We bought some peppers and some peas
and behind the counter we spotted cheese!
Thre are are flowers and squash and spinach and prawn!
And we spent all our dollars and then we were gone!
Now if you click on Sammy's Graphic, you will be magically whisked to Two Spoiled Cats where you can read Sammy's Poem and find all the other poets!

Thankful Thursday With the Gang

Last week we were thankful that Cinnamon received such a wonderful gift from Hailey and Zaphod  for getting the date right for the Last of the Snow contest and it got even better today! Mom and Cinnamon walked to the post office and there was a letter for Cinnamon and guess what was in it?
Back in March, Phod had lost his special tag and had a new one made by Island Engravers! And our letter was from them, and it was for Cinnamon! Here she is wearing it!

Can you see the big smile on her face?
And here is a close up of one side (the other has Cinnamon and our telephone number)

She wants to thank Hailey, Zaphod, their Mom and Dad for the wonderful gifts of a Chuckit Frisbee and the new collar tag! She (and Mom) are over the moon!

THis week we got some wonderful and warm weather. Mom had to go to Penticton on Monday (still more new car/accident stuff) and yesterday and today we were outside sleeping while Mom started planting the garden. We are thankful that Alex put the gazebo up on the deck so we can sleep in the shade!

And Jo Jo (from outside) Sleeping in the sun puddle on our bed

We are thankful for all the wonderful hops and the people and pets who run them and the Cat Blogosphere where we can link up Every Day and we  are especially thankful for you, our furrends who come and visit us (even when we are late because Mom has been too busy to help us).  Thank you Brian and family for sponsoring Thankful Thursday! You guys ROCK!
Now please click on their button wand be magically transported to Thankful Thursday Central where Brian talks about the Ottoman (We sure wish we had one of those)!

  4. Oh your poem was absolutely PERFECTION for Poetry Challenge this week! I know it made Angel Sammy smile and made all of us smile too. We love those spots on the side of the road where you can get FRESH goodies. Love the new tag Cinni has as well. Very snazzy!

  5. Love your poem, Marv, and that tag is a hoot! Mom and dad love to see those little stands around us, too. They just stopped at Looking Glass Creamery in Fairview and picked up a wedge of nice stinky local parmesan.

    1. There is a terrific one in Grand Forks BC that is a dairy. They have a machine like a water dispensing machine, that you can get milk Quart Glass bottles! And their cheeses are to die for! (as is their yogourt and butter).

  6. Lucky Dog! New toys, new tag ... yes, indeed! And poetry extraordinaire ... we've never lucked out in finding homemade cheese, how good that must be at a roadside stand, though have seen it at in-city farmers
markets along with melt in your mouth warm breads. (PS thankful for your Alex who does so much for the pup and the kits, good job A!)

  7. Can't wait until it's the season for wonderful freak and vegetable stands like that one. Glad Kozmo and Cinnamon add warm sunshine with a bit of shade outside. We spent the day inside watching it snow. And then had to go out and cover up some flowers because we had 27 degrees last night. We're going to have some today but it won't be the kind of sun where we can go outside without a coat.

  13. I just added I am thankful Cinnamon got a new tag to my list of thankfuls. I have been meaning to buy one for Beau and keep putting it off, he has his county tag, but it has the county number not ours. this is a really nice tag. I would be thankful if i had that pretty coverlet on the bed. You all look so happy

  15. That is a primo poem Marv! Cinnamon, I love that sweet tag, and it's pink! I googled Penticton and it is one of two things: "a place to stay forever", OR a city in B.C. - I'm hoping it is the second one so your Mom gets back in time to feed y'all - MOL!

    1. Frankly, a city in BC where you want to stay forever would be a good definition! Mom would move there in a New Yor Minute if she could afford a place there!

Love Cinnamon's new tag. Those are so important. We've returned many pups that were lost because of those tags.

  21. That was a great poem. Our mom likes to write limericks. She might join in on this some time soon. Speaking of poems, the little phrase on the cute dog tag is from a most excellent poem, which is now running through the mom's head like songs do. :)
