Today is Wear Red Day®,
celebrated each year on the first Friday in February, to bring greater
attention to heart disease as a leading cause of death for North Americans. Our Mom has high blood pressure and has to watch everything she eats and she takes medication (she might get to go off of it as her stress level has dropped and so has her blood pressure since she retired) and she gets a clean bill of health from her doctor twice a year!
Next up Cinnamon is doing the
Friendly Fill-ins!
Here are the Friendly Fill-Ins. Ellen of 15 and Meowing came up with the first two and her co-host, Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs came up with second two.
1. February is the perfect month to read with your dog (or cat), the weather here in the Northern Hemisphere is cool. Cuddling up with your pet and reading is PURRFECT in February!
2. I have a subscription to walking 2 (or more) times a day. Oh I love my walks!
3. Bad Dad jokes is my kind of humor. It is also Mom's which is why we have such groaners on Mondays!
4. I shouldn’t play with my ball in the house, but I do anyway.
And Finally it is Feline Friday with MARV!

I wish I'd known about this day! I have so many red things I could wear. I guess I will mark it down for next year.

That's wonderful that your Mom's blood pressure has come down since she retired....that's what retirement is all about - de-stressing and enjoying life! Wear Red day is a good reminder that hearts MUST stay healthy.

We are encouraged to wear red by our older folks on the 1st day of Chinese New Year because red is considered an auspicious colour.
This is my kinda day. I love x 100 red. My closet is full of red. Absolutely my favorite color. I have on a red sweatshirt now.

We're happy that Cinnamon helps your mom get her exercise. Our mom wishes she could retire tomorrow! MOL Maybe she'll hit the lotto.
For a dog, you did a good job on the fill-ins, Cinny. Both my peeps have high blood pressure. TW's has been out of control lately since she's been in treatment. She takes meds too. Strangely her's was good until she retired and started worrying about her next buck.

I had no idea! 'Bout wearin' red today, I mean. Hmmm... As I'm an orange cat, and orange is KINDA red, does that count? True red would clash with my gorgeous orange furs. purrs
I didn't know it was wear red day, but luckily I am wearing a red shirt. I also need a subscription to a walk a day. Actually, I need a subscription to a service who will drag me out kicking and screaming and make me walk.

How lovely you get mom out on walks. :) I'm hoping our cat Terra will walk on a leash this summer. She seems to like her harness just fine. Be well, my dears, and stay warm.
