January 21 is Happy Hugs Day!

It was a hectic time this last week! Getting ready for the MSCS AGM became super stressful when my laser printer kept going offline...

  • 75 pages of the Essential Digital Skills for Senors - 5 - m73 page double sided packages to be printed (full color)
  • 25 copies of the Agenda Package
  • Grant Reports
  • Program Progress Reports

and the Laser Printer kept stopping!

Marv thinks he is my in‑house tech support! This is both hilarious and catastrophic in equal measure.

Picture this scene:

  • He strolls across the keyboard with the confidence of a seasoned IT consultant
  • Opens seventeen windows you didn’t know existed
  • Toggles airplane mode for reasons known only to him
  • Sits directly on the printer because “warm box good”
  • Leaves a fine layer of floof on every vent, port, and button

And when the printer goes offline again, he gives you that look:
“Human, clearly you broke it.”

Honestly, though, he’d probably fix the problem by accident. One well‑timed tail swipe and suddenly the printer is back online, the static IP is perfect, and Windows 11 is behaving. He takes full credit, of course. And he DEMANDS hugs...No photos though, so I guess I can never prove it really happened...

I wish he would learn to use the vacuum cleaner...

Today I shall be reassigning the printer to a static port...how it 'lost" that assignment, I shall never know.

And YES!

Marv got HUGS!!!

Aw, Barb, we should all have such resident assistance!!! I bet the hugs melted away most of those cares. At least for as long as it lasted! Good luck with the rest... YAM xx

  2. Marv you are the Magnificent computer cat. Maybe if your mommy took a look at some of those programs that you opened, she'd find the one that solves all of her other problems. What's a little fur floating around. That's what's life's all about and we better hug our cat because of it! Hope she gets all of her work done though because it looks like a humongous project that only a smart lady like her can take care of.

  5. Superior IT support!
Sometimes, with printers, you have to threaten the machine to get it working.

  6. Your mom is so lucky to have you for tech support, Marv. My mom has printer problems and I can't even sit on that machine to make it work like you do. BOL!

  9. Ah....I have called my printer everything but "printer". Katie is good at scouting out problems for me. I see her busy on the keyboard and tabs opened in a meaningful manner (she assures me) but I think she is just looking for an email from her man...Kozmo. (That handsome gorgeous mancat! No one looks as beautiful in their Tux as he does.

  10. Marv is a very good helper. Can you send him over to sort my printer out. It has suddenly decided not to scan to PC, and nearly every time I want to print 2 sided it decides to have a paper jam! There is absolutely nothing wrong when I pull the paper through. I think it needs replacing, but I do (did) like this printer.

  11. WAY to GO, MARV! maybe you can tell me just why at the very moments a printer is needed, it will indeed go off line, every time. It might just be you had nothing to do with the silly thing losing its whatever... I have to say this is the finest yet of cats-astrophic, events

  14. I've no doubt about Marv's hug status. It's funny how they ruin it then fix it, all in one day.

  15. We don't have any kitties now, and yes our printer is as good as dead. Maybe one of our pups snuck into the office and did something to it...or on it. Nah, it's too high on a table for that, LOL!
Dalton gets hugs when he asks for them...if we initiate he 'freezes', poor dude!
    Benji gets hugs a lot!
